encounter: a daddy's heart

i was originally gonna write a lot about this retreat - but instead, i'll just post most of the notes i wrote down from the retreat, since others are able to put into words better than what i can conjure myself.

The Father made you because he wanted you.

Every heart has longings that God puts there.

The Lord heals us to commission us.

What I could not have otherwise, I can get because of God.

The world is hungry to see a God who can change a world that's broken.

The Father will be for you what he wants from you. He models for us, what we are supposed to live out.

Revelation - veil lifted from your eyes, to see in God what we haven't seen before

All of us have access to the Father.

God doesn't just want a loyal people that can follow rules, he wants people after His own heart, with a burning desire for His presence.

Only when you pour out to God is God able to put something in us.

You can only love to the extent you have been loved.

From the beginning, the kingdom operated on a father son, father daughter relationship.  It was about the family.  That's why Satan comes to attack families so hard.  Because whenever people see healthy families, they see a picture of the kingdom.

God doesn't run his kingdom like a democracy, but he runs it like a family.

If you will be a people of my presence, then I will be your God, my shadow will be over you, my power and glory will go before you.

Psalm 25:14
The Lord confides in those who fear him, he makes his covenant known to them.

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen thsoe whose hearts are fully committed to him.

The secrets of God's heart is not told to anyone, but in those who care and are after his heart. God is looking for friendship.

Obedience means you care more about God's secret than your own freedom.

Daddy, thank you!
